2024 BLACK MUSIC HONORS SET TO TAPE SATURDAY, MAY 18TH AT THE COBB ENERGY PERFORMING ARTS CENTRE IN ATLANTA, GA; WITH RETURNING CO-HOSTS LETOYA LUCKETT AND DERAY DAVIS
Central City Productions, a pioneering African-American owned television company based in Chicago, announces the 9th Annual Black Music Honors. The event will be taped live at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, GA on Saturday, May 18th. Singer and actress LeToya Luckett and comedic actor DeRay Davis will co-host the ceremony.
Black Music Honors celebrates the achievements and contributions of urban music artists. This year's honorees include Johnny Gill, Patrice Rushen, Bootsy Collins, and Hezekiah Walker.
“For the past 9 years, Black Music Honors has supported amazing artists who have entertained millions. This year's honorees are trailblazers who deserve recognition. We are proud to bring more visibility to these icons whose careers span decades. Their stories are part of the beautiful tapestry of black music, which has impacted the globe,” says Founder and Executive Producer Don Jackson.
The 2024 Black Music Honors promises a night of black excellence with exceptional performances, heartfelt speeches, and timeless memories. The televised special will premiere on the Stellar Network on Saturday, June 1 at 8 PM EST, with a rebroadcast at 10 PM EST. It will air in national broadcast syndication from June 8 to June 30 in tribute to Black Music Month, and on Bounce TV on June 19 (Juneteenth) at 9 PM EST. The show is presented by Procter and Gamble and supported by sponsors such as Walmart, Verizon, State Farm, General Motors (Chevy), St Jude, and AARP.
The 9th Annual Black Music Honors is Executive Produced by Don Jackson, with Jennifer J. Jackson as Producer and Executive in Charge of Production, Michael A. Johnson as Producer and Director, Erin Johnson as Talent Producer, and Daniel Moore as Music Director.
