ISSA RAE, KENYA BARRIS, ALDIS HODGE, CAST OF “ALL AMERICAN,” NICCO ANNAN, NLE CHOPPA, BECAUSE THEY’RE FUNNY COMEDY SHOW & LEGENDARY WHITE PARTY AT DAY 3 OF THE 2024 AMERICAN BLACK FILM FESTIVAL


Day 3 of the 2024 American Black Film Festival was filled with stars from film, TV, and comedy.

The Legendary White party kept festival-goers celebrating late into the night. Memphis rapper NLE Choppa made a surprise appearance, joining Cory Hardrict and Meagan Good on stage for a lively performance of one of his hit singles.

In the Creator Conversations panel, Issa Rae sat down with Kenya Barris, creator of the black-ish franchise. They discussed their creative journeys, with Barris sharing his thoughts on "cancel culture," stating, "The idea of cancel culture is something I do not support." He emphasized that creativity thrives without fear and expressed interest in collaborating with Issa Rae.


The cast of All American - Daniel Ezra, Michael Evans Behling, Bre-Z, Cory Hardrict, and Geffri Maya - spoke with Blavity’s Trey Mangum, reflecting on their series and its impact. Nicco Annan from P-Valley received enthusiastic applause for his latest project, Down in the Valley.


The day concluded with the Because They’re Funny Comedy Show, featuring comedians like Sir Abiola (Tracksuit Benny), Alfred Kainga, Anthony Oakes, Apple Brown Betty, Mason King, and Rashaun Reese.
