The Fuze Radio Show Interviews on Radio Row at The 2012 Essence Music Festival

The Essence Music Festival is the largest music festival, in the country, that celebrates African-American culture, yearly. When originally planned, the festival was supposed to be a one-time only event, to celebrate the silver anniversary of Essence Magazine. Famously known as ‘the party with a purpose,’ the success of the event inspired the organizers to make it into an annual music festival. The goal behind the event is to empower and present a platform to musicians, artists, speakers, and entrepreneurs of the African-American community. The Solomon Group has been producing the Essence Festival, in New Orleans, since 2013. The festival features free empowerment seminars. Around 500,000 people attend the festival, every year. The festival also provides exhibitions, conferences, a wellness house and a sprawling marketplace.

We, as representatives of The Fuze Radio Show, had the opportunity to experience this renowned event. As we hosted our show on Essences famous Radio Row, we had the privilege of interacting with many artists. Among those were Q. Parker of the group 112, the Braxtons and Dr. Sherry Blake. We were able sit down to one-on-one interviews with these celebrities. It was an honor to have been invited by Essence to be a part of this empowering event.
