Yvette Kendall Talks On F.B.I. Rocks!

Chicago, get ready for F.B.I. Rocks! (Female Black Inventors Rock!) Founder, Yvette Kendall is the epitome of genius, as the African-American Female Inventor is taking the world of innovation to another level.

The Chicago native grew up in the city’s prestigious Hyde Park area. “It’s an important part of Chicago where a lot people wind up making something of themselves. When you grow up in an eclectic place like that, you tend to gravitate… Everybody around there is somebody. It’s a unique area,” cited Ms. Kendall. “Michelle Obama and Roger Eibert and his wife grew up in the Hyde Park area.” Ms. Kendall attended Kenwood High School, which was also a popular part of the Hyde Park area.

In 1998, Ms. Kendall was the first person and African-American female to develop the concept of the first E-Book Reader, but because of her lack of knowledge of the patent and other surrounding laws, the project was not successful, for her. Because of her strong will and motivation, Ms. Kendall didn’t stop there. She has had a licensing deal with Discovery Channel for her "Cleencups" product and she is also the Founder of Shevinci Innovations.

In 2012, Ms. Kendall founded F.B.I. Rocks! She found a niche where she could change the world; her version of making the world a better place. Her purpose for starting the organization was for women of color who are interested in innovative technology and for them to have a place to showcase their inventions and to educate them on innovation, as well as on the patent law process, getting trademarks and branding, while helping them to develop their crafts and giving them exposure to the marketing and financial aspects of things. The organization will be one of the most powerful, nationally-known organizations designed just for Female Black Inventors, both young and old.
