Soul Country Music Partners with Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo to Launch Nationwide Talent Search for the Next Soul Country Music™ Star

The Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo (BPIR) and Soul Country Music is launching a nationwide talent search for the next Soul Country Music™ Star (SCMS). This exciting contest, inspired by popular music competitions, will be showcased during the BPIR Finals weekend.

The search begins online on June 4, 2024, across four cities: Los Angeles, Atlanta, Dallas/Fort Worth, and DC/Maryland. Diverse artists can submit their auditions via YouTube or Vimeo for a chance to compete in live events. Esteemed judges and online voters will narrow down the contestants, with winners advancing to the final competition in Los Angeles or Nashville in November.

Prizes include $10,000 cash, a potential music streaming contract, and a travel opportunity with BPIR in 2025. More details will be announced.

Valeria Howard-Cunningham, President of BPIR, emphasizes the rodeo's legacy and the importance of celebrating Black Country Music Artists. Margo Wade-LaDrew, President of Wade & Associates Group, highlights the organic partnership and the platform created for Black artists.

This competition aims to showcase talented Black artists and diversify the country music scene.
