An Interview With Author Joylynn M. Jossel

Joylynn M. Jossel is the epitome of creative talent. Not only has she authored several books, but she is the artistic developer for a young girl’s group called DJHK Girls. The author is, also, the writer behind the five book series, “New Day Divas,” the three book series, “Still Divas,” the three book series, “Always Divas,” and forthcoming three book series, “Forever Divas.”

“I’m an Essence Magazine Bestselling Author who wrote secular books under the names Joylynn M. Jossel and JOY. An All Night Man, an anthology I wrote with New York Times Bestselling Author Brenda Jackson, earned the Borders Bestselling African American romance award. And my Urban Fiction title, Dollar Bill (Triple Crown Publication), appeared in Newsweek and has been translated to Japanese,” said Jossel.

In 2000, Jossel formed her own publishing company, End of the Rainbow Projects, where she publishes her books until lands a book deal with a major publisher. “I’ve been sharing my literary expertise on conference panels in my home town of Columbus, Ohio as well as in cities across the country,” said the author.

Jossel’s children’s book titled "The Secret Olivia Told Me," written under the name N. Joy, received a Coretta Scott King Honor from the American Library Association. The book was also acquired by Scholastic Books and has sold almost 100,000 copies. Elementary and middle school children have fallen in love with reading and creative writing as a result of the readings and workshops I instruct nationwide.

In addition, Jossel is the artistic developer for a young girl group named DJHK Gurls, in which she pen’s original songs, drama skits and monologues for the group that deal with messages that affect today’s youth, such as bullying.
